This page has all the information you need to understand the school meal program, along with valuable resources to help your family eat healthy and keep fit, whether in school or at home.
2019-2020 School Year
We have many changes! With all students in the district receiving breakfast and lunch at no cost, we felt it was necessary to encourage good eating habits. With that said, we have a nutritional program for our meal program, Healthepro! You can check calories, fat content, carbohydrates and sodium amounts. And guess what? There is an app. for that!! Click the link below and you will taken to the active menu where you can build your menu, seperate by allergens, and see what you are eating! Give it a try today!
Along with the current requirement for students to take a fruit or vegetable with lunch, students are also required to take a fruit or juice at breakfast . We will have at least three types of juice available, along with fresh and canned fruit. With so many options available to students, there should be something available for everyone!
We are asking for parents help in using these requirements as a teaching tool for good health. Encouraging your child to try different fruit and vegetable offerings will give them a lifetime of good eating habits. Have them tell you what they had in school that day and have them help you prepare it at home. Maybe they will try something you haven’t and you will like it!
The school website has a School Food Service section that has lots of great information, including what produce is reasonably priced by the month, and has links to nutritional websites that contain lots of information, interactive games, recipes and more.
Help us help your child be the best that they can be!
Breakfast starts your child's day of learning, start it right with school breakfast!
Eating breakfast has been proven to have many positive effects on our body. Students who eat breakfast tend to have a lower chance to be obese, make less trips to the nurse, have better attendance rates and test scores. We will continue to have the same breakfast menu for our Middle/High school students as we do for our Elementary students . All of our breakfast items will be whole grain and we will encourage the consumption of more whole fruit.
