Reading Counts at ACS
One of the great tools for learning (and for enjoying life on the planet!) is reading. We use it every day. It cultivates ideas, understanding, concentration, reasoning, imagination, and thinking. As important as it is to understanding all school subjects, it carries the promise that each of us will continue as a life-long learner.

When the Afton Elementary Library and Afton MS/HS Library decided to collaborate on a campaign to encourage our learning community to celebrate the benefits of reading, we went straight to students for their perspective and enthusiasm.

The result has been a series of posters, bookmarks, and video that feature Afton students and staff sharing their reasons for reading; and their passion for it! By having classmates carry the message to their peers, our libraries believe that other students may be encouraged to read more, read more widely, and discover the enjoyment and promise that reading provides.
Enjoy the posters and video below. Read!
