Test to Stay Procedures

Test-to-Stay Program

The Afton Central School District has implemented a Test To Stay (TTS) procedure for students who have been exposed to COVID-19 but are asymptomatic. This procedure would allow for students that have been exposed and would normally be placed in quarantine to remain in school. The overall guidance can be seen below:

TTS states that any individual within the PK-12 school setting who is asymptomatic but subject to quarantine can attend school and extracurricular activities by testing negative through Rapid COVID Testing on 5 consecutive days post exposure.
  1. Exposed person must remain asymptomatic
  2. Mask must be worn consistently and properly
  3. Extracurricular activities may only occur if these activities do not involve students from other schools

We will need parent permission for students to participate in TTS. These forms can be found at the links below and in the nurse’s offices. If you are willing to have your child participate in TTS, please advise the nurse’s office when discussing your child’s quarantine. If you have questions about TTS please contact Uday Mukhlis, Assistant Principal/COVID Coordinator, at (607)639-8210 or [email protected].
