The Afton Varsity Softball fought a tough game against Deposit/Hancock, excellent defensive fielding from Emmeline Vroman. Zetea Bushaw also had her debut on the pitching mound.

The varsity softball team fell short on Saturday to Charlotte Valley 10-3. Jenna Wilson pitched for the Knights and had 10 strikeouts on the day while giving up 6 hits. Anna Cable went 2 for 3 at the plate with 1 RBI and a stolen base. Jenna Wilson and Alyssa Spathelf both went 1 for 2. CeCe Bushaw went 2-4 with an RBI and a double.

On Friday Afton JV softball lost 14-12 to Greene but had a chance to take the lead in the final inning. McKenna Ross went 2-3 at the plate with one walk, two stolen bases, and four runs scored. Kate Bacuiska had 11 strikeouts and pitched very well as the game progressed.

On Thursday varsity softball lost in a tough game with Harpursville. The Knights scored 12 runs. Anna Cable went 1-2 with a triple and scored 3 runs with 3 RBI's. Cece Bushaw went 1-2 with 2 RBI's and 2 walks. Makenna Schultz went 1-2 with a double and scored a run. Hailey Crosby went 1-3 with 3 stolen bases. Emmeline Vroman and Ariana Florance also had an RBI each for the Knights. Jenna Wilson and Misty Bushaw pitched for the team in the loss.

On Tuesday varsity softball lost in a tight game with Unatego. Misty Bushaw and Jenna Wilson pitched for Afton in the game and combined for 7 strikeouts and giving up 6 hits. At bat Hailey Crosby went 2-3 and scoring 2 runs. Makenna Schultz and Misty Bushaw also had a hit each for Afton.

The Varsity softball team lost their season opener to Harpursville on Tuesday. The team scored 10 runs in the loss. Hailey Crosby went 2 for 3, Alyssa Spathelf went for 1 for 2 with a double, and Jenna Wilson went 1 for 3 with a home run. The Varsity softball team came out with a huge victory over Walton 13 to 2. Jenna Wilson picked up the win for Afton with 9 strikeouts while giving up 4 hits and 3 walks. Anna Cable and Hailey Crosby went 1 for 3 with a RBI each. Emmeline Vroman, Ariana Florance and Hailey Crosby scored 2 times each for Afton. The teams play home against UV for the home opener on Monday.
