Camp Photo

Last week, twenty Afton FFA students experienced an unforgettable adventure at Camp Oswegatchie! From July 13th – 18th, our students joined up with FFA members from across New York for a week filled with leadership, outdoor fun, and personal growth.

Group photo at camp oswogatchieCampers challenged themselves on high and low ropes courses, hiked scenic trails, and spent time on the water. Students built friendships and developed valuable teamwork and leadership skills. Students stayed positive and fully embraced every opportunity in spite of rain and summer humidity.

Evening activities brought everyone together for Carnival Night, Skit Night, and the always-popular Camp Dance. Our students demonstrated incredible creativity and enthusiasm through their energetic contributions to these enriching activities.

We are especially proud to recognize four Afton FFA students who were awarded Leadership Awards at the end of the week! We are proud to congratulate Emma M., Michelle P., Charley-Rose, and Connor C. for standing out as positive role models and demonstrating outstanding leadership at camp. These awards are given to campers who consistently demonstrated responsibility, encouragement, and outstanding leadership among their peers. Students, you made Afton proud!

Leadership awardees with Ms. ReederMs. Reeder and her FFA members would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Ms. Tina Cutting, the Afton CSD Transportation Department, the Afton Central School District administrative team, the Camp Oswegatchie staff, and Afton Central School District for making this opportunity possible. Their support and coordination helped give our students an experience they’ll never forget.

Students are also excited to carry the lessons and friendships from camp into the upcoming school year and beyond!
