The Harpursville/Afton JV Team showed a lot of fight early and continued to compete despite a tough second inning in a 17-4 loss to Sidney. The Crimson Hornets came out aggressive, getting on the board in the first with smart baserunning and situational hitting from Easton Bagg and Nathan Pratt. They kept the pressure on in the second when Kenny Hoyt delivered an RBI single to give them the lead.
Even after Sidney’s big inning, Harpursville/Afton didn’t back down. The group stayed active on the bases, swiping seven total bags, with Hoyt leading the way with two steals. Offensively, Hoyt and Liam Hawkins each picked up hits, while Bagg added an RBI to help pace the lineup.
The team showed strong effort and energy throughout, especially with their aggressiveness on the basepaths and willingness to compete every inning. With continued focus and growth, this group is building toward putting together a complete game as they head into their next matchup against Oxford-Greene.
