The BGAH Bears varsity field hockey team came away with a 4-0 victory over Marathon on Wednesday!
Lainey Steinbrecher scored three goals. Carly Bagg had the other goal, along with one assist.
With the win, the field hockey team improves to 2-1 on the season!

The players of the game were Ben Porter, who had four goals and one assist. The other goal was scored by John Winn, who also had an assist. Nolan Foster had an assist as well.
Up next, the BGAH Bears will play Friday night in Downsville at 7 p.m.

Our orientation for incoming 6th graders will be held Wednesday, Sept. 2, starting at 5 p.m. with pizza in the cafeteria! We'll then move to the auditorium at 5:30 p.m. for the remainder of the orientation.
Parents and students should enter through the MS/HS cafeteria doors.

This week, our newest Afton Central School District students got a special introduction to their school during pre-K and kindergarten orientation!
Our incoming students had the opportunity to explore their classrooms, meet teachers and staff, get comfortable in their new surroundings and even take a ride on a school bus. From classroom activities and story time to plenty of smiles and new experiences, it was a wonderful way to begin their journey as Afton Crimson Knights!
We are so excited to welcome our youngest learners to Afton Central School and can't wait to see all the learning, growing and memories ahead. Here's to a fantastic school year!

The Afton FFA Food pantry scheduled for Friday, Aug. 14, from 3-4 p.m. is canceled. A new date will be posted soon.
The Afton FFA has hit the ground running setting up for two fairs this week. On Tuesday, students gave out donated Chobani Protein shakes at the Afton Fair.
Come see our displays at both the Afton Fair under the grandstands and the Chenango County Fair in the Crop Tent next to the dairy barn.

August 17 - Varsity Football
August 24 - Varsity Soccer, Cross Country, Field Hockey, Cheer and Volleyball
August 31 - Modified Football
September 8 - Modified Soccer, Cross Country and Field Hockey
All guardians need to complete the online athletic forms containing the athletic contract, medical paperwork, consent to ride and other information. Student-athletes must also have a current physical before the start of their season in order to participate. Please reach out to the school’s health office if you need to confirm this information, as well as to provide any updates. If a physical is needed, please contact your medical provider.
