The fifth grade is learning about Canada by examining the clues about the country found on their currency. We have learned about Canada’s favorite winter sport, wildlife, common languages, and more!

Community open swim is starting December 6th!
It will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. when school is in session. Someone will be at the door from 6:15 p.m. to 6:40 p.m. to let patrons into the school. If you come after this time, we can’t guarantee you will be able to get into the building.
The fee per session is $2.00 per adult and $1.00 per student. Everyone is welcome. First graders and under must be accompanied by an adult. Also, please note that small children (kindergarten and under) must have an adult in the water with them. Girls must wear a one-piece bathing suit, and boys must wear a bathing suit, not gym shorts.

The ACS Drama Club will be performing The Wizard of Oz: Young Performer’s Edition on December 16th and 17th at 7pm in the Margery Secrest Auditorium. Tickets will be available for purchase at the door and will be $5 for adults and $3 for students and seniors.

On Tuesday, November 22, forty middle school students attended an incentive field trip to Cinema Saver and saw The Rise of Gru. The students were all on honor roll or higher for the first quarter – keep up the great work!

Afton’s own Reuben Brett appeared as a pickpocket this weekend in Tri-Town Theatre’s production of “Oliver!” He’s shown here on the steps of London Bridge. It was Reuben’s debut performance in a musical and his first experience with community theater. Reuben is a third-grade student. Afton Proud!
