Ms. Covey's 7th-grade students created posters to demonstrate their understanding of imagery from the Witch of Blackbird Pond by Elizabeth George Speare! We are proud of our students' accomplishment! Great job, Students!


The varsity girls' basketball team were defeated in their game at Harpursville on Wednesday 46-32. The girls led 12-5 in the second quarter, but Harpursville went on a run that the Knights were ultimately unable to recover from. Rylee Rupakus led the Knights in scoring with 10 points. McKenna Ross added 6 points. Appalonia Bushaw had a team-high 7 steals. The team heads to Worcester on Monday, January 12th for a non-league matchup.

Afton Central School District is pleased to announce that Ms. Kendra Smith, School Social Worker, was granted tenure at last night's board meeting! We are so thankful for Ms. Smith's incredible work supporting our students!

The Class of 2031 is hosting the Sno-Ball winter semi-formal dance on Friday, January 16th from 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. There will be games, prizes, and concessions. If a student would like to bring a guest, students may get permission forms from the middle/high school office. We hope to see you there!

The varsity girls defeated Unadilla Valley at home on Monday 39-37 for their first MAC League win on the season! Rylee Rupakus led the Knights in scoring with 22 points. Appalonia Bushaw and Ariana Florance added six points each. Megan Racine had a team-high 12 rebounds. The girls head to Harpursville on Wednesday for their next game.

Afton Step students had a fantastic time at our STEP kickoff meeting! Students constructed excavators provided by the Home Depot, enjoyed pizzas and free giveaways and worked on their STEM projects! Way to go, Students!

The Class of 2029 is hosting a showing of Elf tonight at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium. Admission is free and there will be concessions for sale. We hope you can make it!

Afton students enjoyed a performance of the nutcracker by Limitless dance studio! We are so thankful for their fantastic performance!
Afton STEP students enjoyed modifying the python code of MicroBIT robot cars to learn coding concepts. Students changed the headlight colors and speeds of their cars. Nice job, Students!

We are so thankful for the students and staff who contributed to the outstanding success of Read Across the Kingdom! Students connected from across grade levels so they could take the first part of the school read books together! This instructional program was designed by the Afton LINKS committee to construct positive friendships between students and foster a community of collaborative learners! Great job, Students!
