Fall Sports Starts Dates


August 17 - Varsity Football

August 24 - Varsity Soccer, Cross Country, Field Hockey, Cheer and Volleyball

August 31 - Modified Football

September 8 - Modified Soccer, Cross Country and Field Hockey

All guardians need to complete the online athletic forms that will be sent out this afternoon containing the athletic contract, medical paperwork, consent to ride and other information. Student-athletes must also have a current physical before the start of their season in order to participate. Please reach out to the school’s health office if you need to confirm this information, as well as to provide any updates. If a physical is needed, please contact your medical provider.

Afton FFA Has a Busy Weekend of Service


Afton FFA members spent the weekend giving back to the community through service and outreach at the Chenango County Fairgrounds.

On Friday, members joined FFA chapters from across Chenango County to help prepare the fairgrounds by weeding and mulching the community garden. Their hard work helped create a welcoming space for visitors while supporting the fairgrounds and promoting teamwork among local FFA chapters.

Then, on Saturday, Afton FFA participated in Dairy Day at the Chenango County Fairgrounds. Students welcomed families by distributing fresh produce, including peaches, nectarines, and yellow squash. Visitors also enjoyed complimentary lemonade, iced tea, and bottled water to stay refreshed throughout the event.

One of the most popular attractions at the Afton FFA booth was free face painting, where members transformed children into colorful creations and helped make the day even more memorable. Through their volunteer efforts, students promoted healthy living, agricultural awareness, and community engagement while representing Afton FFA with pride.

Mobile Community Cupboard Pantry on Monday, July 13


There will a mobile Community Cupboard Pantry this afternoon from 4-5 p.m. in the front of the Middle/High School.

Afton Students Compete in Norwich Gus Macker Tournament


Congratulations to all of the Afton students who competed in the Norwich Gus Macker Tournament over the weekend!

The Gus Macker is an annual 3-on-3 basketball tournament held each July in Norwich, drawing more than 300 teams and thousands of spectators.

We’re proud of everyone who represented Afton and hope you had a great experience. Great job!

Girls Wrestling Open Gyms


Any Afton girls in grades 7-12 this upcoming school year who would like to try wrestling are invited to attend open gyms from now until the end of August, every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:30-5 p.m. in the Harpursville Elementary School. Please see the attached flyer for more information.
