Congratulations to our varsity softball team in their win against Delhi last night (22 - 13)! Afton had 16 hits scoring 22 runs. Afton gained an early lead and played tight defense highlighted by a sliding catch by McKenna Ross. Delhi came back to take the lead mid game. Afton scored 9 runs in the 6th inning helped to solidify the win. Jenna Wilson had 6 strikeouts! Kathleen Charette, Makenna Schultz, Megan Racine, Alyssa Spathelf, and Jenna Wilson had multiple RBIs. Makenna Schultz went four for five on the night with a double and Megan Racine went five for six with three doubles and six RBIs. Miranda Schultz, Misty Bushaw, Emilie Hopkins, Kadence Racine, and Madicine Kern scored runs. The team plays at Sidney on Wednesday night for the second round of the MAC tournament. Let's go, Team!

Afton/Harpursville traveled to Oxford and won 1-0 in league match with Ryan Wright hitting a mile stone 400+ strike out tonight with a one-hitter and Matt Carman in relief to finish the game. Jayden Delion had a solid night at the plate with a sacrificial RBI. Great all around baseball game by our baseball team. Depending on the results, our baseball team has one home and one away game this week.

The Class of 2028 is sponsoring a basketball tournament for middle and high school students! Please contact Ms. Wheeler for additional information.

BGAH Cross Country and Indoor Track will be hosting their 4th Annual Golf Tournament fundraiser on July 27th at the Afton Golf Course. This event serves to raise funds for our cross country and indoor track programs as they look to continue their tradition of excellence in our communities. The tournament is a Captain and Crew format, with an entry fee of $300 per team of 4 ($75 per golfer). Entries include 18 holes with cart, catered dinner afterwards, hole games, including a $10,000 hole-in-win competition, and snacks. All proceeds go directly to our over 100 Bainbridge/Guilford, Afton, and Harpursville athletes across our two teams. If you are interested in registering a team OR sponsoring a hole to support the teams, please contact Mr. Collin Smith at csmith@aftoncsd.org or Nick Mayo at nmayo@bgcsd.org and we will get back to you ASAP!

Afton Central School District will host Family Fun Day on Tuesday May 20th from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. We hope to see you there!

The Afton varsity softball team came up big with a win over Unadilla Valley on Thursday night (23 - 0). Jenna Wilson picked up a win on the mound. Jenna Wilson and Misty Bushaw combined for a no hitter in the win. The team was hot at the plate with 17 hits over 5 innings. Makenna Schultz went four for four with three RBIs and a double. Megan Racine went two for two with three RBIs and a double. Emilie Hopkins went two for three with two doubles and three RBIs. Madicine Kern, Makenna Ross, Kathleen Charette, Misty Bushaw, Alyssa Spathelf and Miranda Schultz also had RBIs in the game. Ross and Bushaw scored four times each. The team plays next Tuesday in the first round of the MAC tournament.
Our Harpursville/Afton baseball team lost (8-2) in nine innings in their senior night game. During the game, Ryan Wright had 13 strikeouts and scored one run. Matthew Carman picked off two base runners at pivotal times durning the game. Don Hoover had 1 RBI. Their next game Monday in Oxford. We are proud of our seniors Ryan Wright, Matt Carman, Sam Mancuso, and Tristan Pike.

The Class of 2030 is running their second annual food drive contest from May 8th to May 21st! The winning high school and elementary grade s will earn a pizza party!

The Afton Varsity softball team came up with a big win over Groton last night (22 - 3). Jenna Wilson picked up 6 strikeouts in the win and gave up four hits. Makenna Schultz, Miranda Schultz, Megan Racine, Alyssa Spathelf, and Emilie Hopkins scored three times each for Afton. Misty Bushaw, Alyssa Spathelf, McKenna Ross, Megan Racine, Madicine Kern, Miranda Schultz and Makenna Schultz had multiple RBIs in the win. The team played solid offense and defense in the victory. The team plays Thursday 5/8 at home versus Unadilla Valley.

We are so thankful for all the amazing work our teachers do for our students!

The Afton varsity softball team lost to Sidney (8 -2). Jenna Wilson had eight strikeouts in the loss. Makenna Schultz and Kathleen Charette both scored in the game. The team plays at Groton on Wednesday.
Harpursville-Afton Track competed in the REK Invitational in Norwich. Appalonia Bushaw placed 2nd in Long Jump and 3rd in High Jump. Jake Barber placed 4th in Long Jump and 6th in the 100 meter dash out of 60 competitors.
Matthew Carman and Ryan Wright are our varsity baseball team seniors! We are proud of their outstanding effort both on and off the field.
