5th grade elementary students are enjoying one of the New York Thursday lunches featuring food grown in New York State! Students had the opportunity to try purple potatoes, along with pork loin, green beans and warmed apples. Many students enjoyed them. One student said it was one of the best lunches he had at school! We are so thankful to our vendors who supply us with these locally grown foods for our students!

The varsity girls lost their road game on Monday at Delhi, 58-18. Rylee Rupakus led the Knights in scoring with 11 points. Megan Racine led with 10 rebounds and four blocks. The girls play their final home game of the regular season this Friday when they take on Greene at 5:30 p.m.

Our girls basketball team got the win 55-28 at Otselic Valley on Thursday. Rylee Rupakus led the Knights with 25 points. Megan Racine scored 11 points and had a season-high 16 rebounds. McKenna Ross and Misty Bushaw added 9 points each. Ross also had 8 rebounds and 5 steals! We have upcoming games on Monday (2/2) at Delhi and Friday (2/6) vs Greene in Afton.
At galaxy bowl our Afton/Harpursville bowling team won all four matches! Nicholas Farnham was recognized as for his senior night game! Nicholas has been bowling for three years and has become a key player on our team. He was voted as the team captain and leads by example with a positive attitude during matches and helping teammates during practice. We wish Nicholas the best of luck in his future as he will enter the work force operating heavy equipment.

The girls basketball team was defeated at B-G on Tuesday 63-21. Rylee Rupakus led the Knights with 15 points. McKenna Ross had a team-high 7 rebounds. The girls take on Otselic Valley on the road on Thursday.

The girls basketball team celebrated senior night on Friday against Deposit-Hancock. D-H won a back-and-forth game 53-49. Rylee Rupakus led the Knights with 23 points and 12 rebounds. Appalonia Bushaw added 12 points and 9 steals. The Knights hit the road this week with games at B-G on Tuesday and Otselic Valley on Thursday.

We are so proud of our students who attended the All-County Festival in Oxford this Saturday! They spent the day rehearsing alongside other students from across the county, all of whom brought incredible enthusiasm and hard work, and came together to perform a fantastic concert—all in one day.
We are especially proud of our students who represented Afton in the Elementary Band, Junior Chorus, Senior Chorus, and Jazz Band. They had an amazing opportunity to learn, collaborate, and perform at a high level!
We would also like to extend a huge thank you to our music teachers, Mr. James Behret (Secondary Vocal and General Music Teacher) and Ms. Deanna Perkosky (Secondary Instrumental Music Teacher), for preparing the students and to our parents and families for their continued support in making this extra festival possible. Great job, everyone!

The Class of 2031 had a fantastic time at the Middle School Sno-Ball Dance! Students played musical chairs, danced the limbo, won candy raffles, and danced together to celebrate! Over 80 people attended raising over $400! We are so thankful for everyone who contributed including Ms. Eichler, the Class of 2031 advisor, Mr. Kober, our outstanding DJ, our chaperones, and our students!
