Congrats to the JV girls for their win against Gilboa-Conesville/Roxbury on Thursday! Appollonia Bushaw, Megan Racine, McKenna Ross, and Rylee Rupakus each scored in the double digits for the Knights. Megan Racine and McKenna Ross combined for 29 rebounds! Great job, Team!

Congrats to the JV girls on their 52-19 win over Franklin on Tuesday. Appalonia Bushaw led the Knights in scoring with 14 points. Megan Racine led with 11 rebounds, 8 steals, and 3 blocks. This was another team win as every player on the roster scored. The Knights play again on Thursday in Afton at 5:30pm.

Afton- The Afton Central School District thanks residents for their overwhelming support during the Capital Project vote on Tuesday at the middle school/high school. The $12M capital project passed by a margin of 132-39. “The results of our Capital Project vote demonstrate the strong support this community has for the students and staff at Afton,” said Jim Parkinson, Board of Education President. “This project addresses critical needs and ensures our facilities meet the highest standards for safety, learning and growth.” The project, which comes with no additional tax impact to the school community, will address the following: • Infrastructure, safety, and functionality improvements, accessibility enhancements, upgraded utility systems, building restoration, and transportation facilities optimization • Expanded space and functionality for Agriculture CTE programs, a new STEAM Fab Lab, and a reimagined multimedia library for collaborative learning. • Quality and accessibility improvements to co-curricular and athletic facilities, enhanced gym environments, upgraded pool locker rooms, and ADA compliance for community engagement and safety. “Thank you to the voters who recognized the importance of this investment in our schools and our students’ future,” said Afton Interim Superintendent Terry Dougherty. “Your support will help create a safer, more modern learning environment for every student.” The project is scheduled to begin in late June of 2026 and will be completed in phases to prioritize key initiatives and to minimize interruptions to the learning environment.

The JV girls won their first round game of the Fisher and Preston Tournament in Davenport on Thursday against Charlotte Valley, 57-39! Great job, Team! Rylee Rupakus led the team with 20 points, and App Bushaw scored 10. Ariana Florance had a team-high 9 rebounds. Misty Bushaw led with 4 assists. Rupakus also had a team-high 8 steals. This was a total team win as every player on the Afton roster scored. The girls head back to Davenport on Saturday to play for the championship at 2:00 p.m.
