Friday night the team traveled to SUNY Cortland for the It’s About Time meet against 11 other Section III and IV teams. This meet was used as a JV type competition for our new athletes and those that may not get to attend other competitions with the limited entries, we have for Indoor Track meets traditionally. On Sunday, the team traveled to Ithaca College for their Ithaca College Bomber High School Invite. 25 teams overall competed, including some of the largest programs in the state – Guilderland, Corning, Ballston Spa, Columbia, Mohanasen amongst others. If you don’t know, these schools are all over 1000 students on their enrollment. The Boys team placed 5th overall and 1st in Small Schools. Girls placed 16th, 6th in Small Schools. Hello, Afton Community!
We are pleased to announce our students' Concert Showcase is on Wednesday, December 10th at 7:00 p.m. in the auditorium! We hope to see you there!

We will be hosting a varsity and JV girls basketball tournament this week, and we would like to invite you to come support our teams! The tournament begins on Thursday, December 4th, when our girls take on Worcester.

On Friday, the Knights defeated Schoharie 44-33. This was the first win for the varsity program since January 24th, 2022. McKenna Ross led the Knights in scoring with 15 points. Rylee Rupakus and Appalonia Bushaw also chipped in 13 and 11 points, respectively. Megan Racine led with 10 rebounds.
On Saturday, the Knights were defeated in the tourney championship by Cherry Valley-Springfield 43-32. CV-S jumped out to an 11-point lead at halftime. Afton played them much tougher in the second half but came up short. Rylee Rupakus led with 12 points, and Megan Racine grabbed a team-high 13 rebounds.
The Knights next 5 games will be home, beginning with the Afton Tip-Off Tournament December 4th-6th.
