Students in Mrs. Page’s 8th grade ELA class reviewed tone as a literary element using an interactive Edpuzzle video. Students then divided into collaborative groups, chose an emotionally charged word from a passage in their current text, Inside Out & Back Again by Thanhha Lai, and completed Frayer models to explore the emotional word and the impact it has on the text’s meaning.

On Thursday, October 13, 2022, the local fire department came to Afton Elementary School to put on a presentation about fire safety. After the presentation, our students were able to view and board two fire trucks. It's very important to have practice fire drills at home. Not only should your child know the sound of your fire alarms, but they should also know where your meeting spot outside of the home is. We would like to send a big thank you to the Afton Fire Department!
