Afton students at the Lackawanna Coal Mine in Scranton, PA! Students had a great time learning about the coal industry! Our students learned that children as young as five had to work in the mines! We are so fortunate to have this piece of local history to learn about.

Hello, Afton Community! Boys Varsity and JV basketball open gym will take place on Thursday the 10th from 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. and Saturday the 12th from 10:00 p.m. - 12:00 p.m. JV Girls Basketball will be having an open gym 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday the 9th.

The middle school students just had their annual spelling bee competition! Congratulations to our Afton CSD Spelling Bee champion, McKenna Ross!! She will be moving on to the regional competition in Oneonta! Many students participated in a tight competition! Thank you to everyone who participated! Afton Proud!

Hello, Afton Community! The pool has been refilled! Elementary students just began using the pool for PE classes! The gym floor is also fixed and ready to go!

The ACS Drama Club will be performing The Wizard of Oz: Young Performer’s Edition on December 16th and 17th at 7pm in the Margery Secrest Auditorium. Tickets will be available for purchase at the door and will be $5 for adults and $3 for students and seniors.

Afton Central School Adult and Continuing Education program will begin Water Aerobics classes on Tuesday, November 15th from 5:30-6:30 pm. Classes will be held each Tuesday and Thursday when Afton School is in session. The fee for each class is $3.00 paid each night to instructor, Candi Lashway.
