BGAH Cross Country ran well in two recent meets! They competed in the Owego Dash in the Dark.
Modified Boys placed 6th overall, led by Kenny Hoyt in 16th place.
Modified Girls took 3rd overall, led by Riley Rupakus in 30th and Gabby Gross had a huge first race to place 37th in a field of 75 runners overall.
Varsity Boys placed 4th for Small Schools and were led by Owen Degan in 70th in field of over 150 boys runners.
Varsity Girls Marissa Mayo, Issy Ramos, and Amber Kolb all ran personal bests in a fast field of 186 total runners.
The Varsity Girls ran at the Pre-State Meet in Queensbury past Albany.
Top finishes from Maddie Ingham, Laeni Baldwin, and Jalyn Winans put the girls in a great spot in a combined field of over 1,000 girl runners from 4 total races that day.

The Afton school pool is opening for community use. Morning Lab swim starts September 9th Monday, Wednesday, & Friday swimming from 6:00 am – 7:15 am. The fee is $2.00 per session. Someone will be at the MS/HS main entrance from 5:45am-6:00am to let you into the building. If you come after this time, we can’t guarantee you will be able to get into the building. Community open swim starts September 17th, it will be on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 6:30pm-7:30pm when school is in session. Someone will be at the door from 6:15pm to 6:30pm to let patrons into the school. If you come after this time we can’t guarantee you will be able to get into the building. The fee per session is $2.00 per adult and $1.00 per student. Everyone is welcome. First graders and under must be accompanied by an adult. Also, please note that small children (kindergarten and under) must have an adult in the water with them. Girls must wear a one-piece bathing suit, and boys must wear a bathing suit, not gym shorts. and Water Aerobics starts September 24th, Classes run Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm starting September 24th. There is a $3.00 fee to be paid at the beginning of each class. There is no need to register in advance.

Classes run Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm starting September 24th. There is a $3.00 fee to be paid at the beginning of each class. There is no need to register in advance. Afton Central School District would like to extend a huge thank you to the students and families who attended our 6th-grade orientation! Students were introduced to teachers and advisors and enjoyed pizza together!
Afton Central School District provided a two-day orientation for our new teachers. This included technology information specific to Afton, a district bus tour, presentations from our Business Office, Student Services, and CSE office, as well as information about our LINKS plan and Strategic Plan. We are excited to welcome our new teachers to Afton!
