JV girls score update: Afton 41, Charlotte Valley 34. The girls play their last game of the season on Wednesday, February 14th, at 5:30pm vs Deposit-Hancock.
Our BGA indoor track team competed in the Section 4 Sectional Championships last week!
Congratulations to the Girls Team on winning the sectional championship! They defeated 18 other teams at the meet to win their 2nd sectional championship in three years. Alli Hauptmann placed 3rd in weight-throwing to seal the victory for your BGA Bears.
The boys team placed 4th out of 17 teams competing, with personal bests by Ashton Adams in the 55 hurdles and Thomas Joyce in the 300m. Their achievements helped the boys to the 2nd best finish in the history of our program.
Next up is the last meet of the regular season before State Qualifiers, the Section IV Classic, at Cortland next Saturday.

Congratulations to our JV girls basketball team for winning against Greene 34-28! This was their fourth win in a row! They have two games left this season.

The JV boys basketball team lost 41-36 to Sidney. Levi Russell led the team with 12 points.
The Varsity boys basketball team lost 60-40. Ryan Wright has 19 points, Equan Patterson added 10.

Mrs. Scuorzo's class has been working on place value this month. In this activity we are learning how to exchange 10 ones for ten and 10 tens for a one hundred in preparation for two-digit addition.

The JV girls won tonight at home vs Unadilla Valley, 36-26.
Afton Central School District had its third lockdown drill of the year today which included the canine units from New York State Police. We appreciate the cooperation with all involved law enforcement agencies as we continue to assess our safety protocols.
National School Counseling Week recognizes the vital roles school counselors play in the lives of students across the country.
Each year during the first full school week in February, schools, and teachers take time to show appreciation to the counselors who’ve made an impact on the lives of their students.
This week we’d like to take a moment to show our appreciation for all that our counselors do to make the lives of our students at ACS better by their support and care every day. Thank you, Ms. Brownell and Mrs. Nordberg and Ms. Wurtz!
