The Afton varsity softball team lost to Sidney (8 -2). Jenna Wilson had eight strikeouts in the loss. Makenna Schultz and Kathleen Charette both scored in the game. The team plays at Groton on Wednesday.

Harpursville-Afton Track competed in the REK Invitational in Norwich. Appalonia Bushaw placed 2nd in Long Jump and 3rd in High Jump. Jake Barber placed 4th in Long Jump and 6th in the 100 meter dash out of 60 competitors.

We have important athletic updates. The varsity baseball game has moved to the Harpursville High School. The varsity softball team move to play at Sidney High School. The modified softball game is postponed but they will practice is inside at the big gym. The modified baseball game is cancelled.

The Afton varsity softball team lost its game against visiting Oxford on Friday five to six. Jenna Wilson had nine strikeouts in the loss. Megan Racine and Alyssa Spathelf combined for five hits and four RBIs along with a triple by both players. Misty Bushaw knocked in the final run for Afton. Makenna Schultz scored a run after she hit a double in the game.

The Afton varsity softball team battled hard away against Unatego picking up a win (9 - 4). The team went up one to zero in the first with base hits by Makenna Schultz and Ariana Florance. Unatego responded leaving it one to one at the end of the first. Misty Bushaw and Miranda Schultz picked up hits in the second inning to go up two to one. Unatego responded tying it up two to two. Afton went up again in the third inning which was followed by Unatego which came back to go ahead four to three. The team came back to tie the game in the 6th inning with hits from Makenna Schultz and a double from Megan Racine. In the top of the 7th inning, the girls had great at bats to load the bases from Avree Wrench, Briella Fendick and McKenna Ross. Emilie Hopkins, Megan Racine and Makenna Schultz came through with RBIs. Jenna Wilson got the win on the mound with ten strikeouts on the night. She also got it done at the plate going two for three.

The Class of 2025 is hosting a Chicken BBQ on May 20th from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. Pickup is in the MS/HS Lobby. Pre-Sale Tickets are available for purchase until May 9th.


The Afton varsity softball team won their game against Worcester last night (9 - 6). Jenna Wilson picked up the win on the mound with 11 strikeouts. She also went two for three at the plate. Madicine Kern swiped three bases. Makenna Schultz went three for four with two RBIs and scoring two runs. Megan Racine went two for three with three stolen bases. Misty Bushaw went two for three with a triple. Briella Fendick went one for two with a RBI and two stolen bases. Worcester made a comeback in the 7th inning. Miranda Schultz made a diving catch getting the second out to stop their momentum. Jenna Wilson closed the door with her 11th strikeout. The team plays at Unatego today.

Our varsity softball earned a big win over Delhi on the road (14 - 9). Jenna Wilson picked up the big win on the mound for Afton. Afton had hot bats early and ended with 17 hits on the day. Alyssa Spathelf led the charge going four for four at the plate with two doubles and two triples. She knocked in four runs. Makenna Schultz, Kathleen Charette, Megan Racine, Alyssa Spathelf, Miranda Schultz, and Emilie Hopkins each had multiple hits on the night. Emilie Hopkins and Makenna Schultz had multi-RBI's. The team plays home on Wednesday against Worcester.

The Middle School Spring Fling Dance is Friday, May 2nd from 6:00 - 8:00! Students in grades 6-8 are invited!


Afton/Harpursville baseball are the Livingston manor tournament champions defeating Livingston manor 12-0! In the champion ship game, they defeated Sullivan West 8-4! Matthew Carman was the tournament MVP! Davin Warren and Paul Shelton both earned the wins and impressive outing on the mound. As a team, they had 13 hits, 12 walks, 21 stolen bases! Matt Carmen had a triple, and Jayden Deleon had a double! There were only three errors on the day. Today, they play Bainbridge at home for a league game.





The Annual Art@Afton High School Art Show will be this week on April 29th from 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM and April 30 - May 1 from 8:00 AM - 2:45 PM.


The varsity baseball game scheduled for today has been postponed for tomorrow.

The Afton Varsity softball team lost in a tight game against Greene (1-4). Jenna Wilson collected 11 strikeouts in the circle for Afton and only gave up 1 walk. The Knights had two hits each from Makenna Schultz and Megan Racine. Makenna Schultz also picked up 2 stolen bases. Megan Racine had a double and scored the only run by an RBI single from Misty Bushaw. Mckenna Ross and Kathleen Charette also picked up hits for the Knights. The team plays at Delhi on Monday.



Our Afton/Harpursville varsity baseball team hosted Delaware Academy last night and won (3-0)! Ryan Wright had 18 strikeouts, 0 walks, and 6 hits!He scored once with 3 stolen bases. Matt Carmen hit a double with an RBI and Timothy Barnett collected hits and scored once. Donnie Hoover also had a RBI. Team captain Tristan Pike set the tone in the dug out. The team played a great game with zero errors. Their next game is Saturday in Liberty for a double header.
