We are always working to improve and simplify communication between you and the Afton Central School District.

You can download our district app from the iOS App Store or Google Play Store. We are adding a new feature called Rooms to the app. Soon, you'll receive an invitation to Rooms by email or text which prompts you to create an account. Rooms enables two-way messaging with teachers, staff, and coaches as well as quicker access class specific information.

We hope this offers a richer, simpler, and easier communication experience. Please reach out with any questions!

Announcing Rooms for our district! Dear families, We are always working to improve and simplify communication between you and the Afton Central School District. Keeping up with your child's coursework and their teachers directly impacts their wellbeing both in the classroom and at home. School communication plays a big part in all of this, but it's often not set up to be as simple and easy to access as it could be. To address this issue, we're adding a new feature called Rooms to our district app. Rooms enables you to have two-way parent-teacher conversations and keep up with classroom announcements. Our district app currently offers: • Live feed updates • District and school news • Upcoming events • Breakfast and lunch menus • Push notifications for important and urgent announcements With Rooms, you '11 have access to even more exciting features like:• Two-way messaging with teachers, staff, and coaches • Classroom announcements, reminders about coursework, and materials This means that you don't need another app or tool to keep up with your child's teachers and coursework. You '11 be able to find the vast majority of school and district information in one place: within our Afton CSD app. If you don't already have it, the district app is free, and you can search for it in the Play Store and App Store! Soon you'll receive an invitation to Rooms by email or text. Once you receive the invite, you'll follow the link on your browser to create a login. After you've created your login, you can access Rooms through the Afton CSD app. Once you're there, you '11 see a toggle at the bottom right-hand corner of the screen. Our girls modified soccer team won their first game of the season at Walton yesterday (1-0). Mackenzie Kolb of Harpursville scored the winning goal with five minutes left. Our defense had a strong performance led by Donna Kear and Adleigh Noone. They prevented Walton from taking any shots during the final five minutes to seal the win. The next game is home versus Delhi on Thursday!

September 23, 2025 We are excited to announce that our Afton Central School cafeterias will continue hosting VIP lunch days this year! This year our first very important person lunch will be held on October 2, 2025. On this day, you can come to school and eat lunch with your children. Due to space limitations, we would like to recommend no more than one VIP per student. The menu will include: Honey Chicken Cheddar Croissant, Rice, Veggie and Milk. The lunch schedule is: PreK – 11:00-11:30 Kindergarten – 11:20-11:50 1st - 11:00-11:30 2nd - 11:40-12:10 3rd - 11:10-11:40 4th - 11:30-12:00 5th - 11:45-12:15 12-1-1 – 11:40-12:10 HS – 11:23-11:53 MS – 12:06-12:36 The cost for an adult lunch will be $5.50 per person. *RSVP and PREPAYING is required. You will be asked to sign in at the Middle/High school office or the Elementary school office and we ask that you arrive no more than 5 minutes before your student’s scheduled lunch period. If this cost is a hardship for your family, we still want you to attend! The Afton/Harpursville girls soccer team came up just short against Sidney with a final score of 2-1. A/H goal was scored by Aisley Ruff, and Appalonia Bushaw had 23 saves.

Congratulations to our field hockey team who won against Sidney (6 - 0). Afton/Harpursville had 14 shots and 6 corners. Vanessa Card scored four goals; Makenna Schultz scored one goal and one assist. Miranda Schultz scored one goal and one assist, and Jessalyn Powell scored one assist. Emilie Hopkins had one save. Lukas Goodspeed had five saves. With this win, our field hockey team record is now (5 - 1).

Hello, Afton Community!

BGAH Cross Country ran in the Owego Dash in the Dark on Friday. The boys varsity team placed 4th in the Small School division and 8th out of 38 teams overall. The varsity girls placed second in the Small School Division, and 6th out of 38 teams overall! The modified boys took 5th in Small School and 12th overall. The girls modified were led by Myahlee Palmer and Elzie Johns 26th and 30th overall finishes in a field of 131 girls overall.

Congratulations to our varsity boys soccer team who won last night's game (6-5) against Unatego/Franklin! Ben Porter scored 4 goals, Julian Terrell and John Winn each scored one. Aiden Haines and Ben Porter each had an assist. Their current record is (4-2). Let's go, Team!

Afton FFA Food Pantry is back!

Our first distribution is Friday, September 19, 2025, from 3:00–4:00 p.m.

We’ll have non-perishables and fresh produce—grown and donated. All Afton CSD families and community members are welcome. No appointment is required.
