BGA Dollars for Scholars is conducting their Phone-a-thon/ Mail-a-thon to raise funds to provide scholarships to assist students in the Afton and B-G class of 2025 with their post secondary education. Congratulations to our varsity softball team with a big win against Harpursville 10-1! Jenna Wilson led the team with 13 strikeouts while giving up 5 hits. Afton had 10 hits on the night including a double by Ariana Florance, Emilie Hopkins, and Kathleen Charette. Megan Racine came up big in the 4th with a home run shot over the left field fence driving in three runs! Alyssa Spathelf, Kathleen Charette, Jenna Wilson, Miranda Schultz, and Megan Racine all had RBIs on the night. All starters finished the game with at least one hit to finish the night. The team plays away at Walton tonight!

On April 8, 2025, the Afton Central School District Board of Education agreed to offer Mrs. Annette Hammond the position as our new superintendent of schools. Annette is currently the superintendent in the Gilbertsville-Mount Upton School District. It is anticipated that she will assume the position between mid-July and August 1, 2025.
The Board would also like to take this opportunity to thank those members of the school community who provided feedback to the Board during this process as it helped inform the Board of the qualities and characteristics demanded of our next superintendent.

This initiative aims to further support the community by providing accessible and nutritious food to individuals and families in need, by reducing food insecurity in Afton.
