Varsity Football - Practice Monday through Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 @ Harpursville - Friday Scrimmage @ Chenango Forks 6:00 start. No Practice Saturday - labor Day Practice 9:00 to 11:00.

Varsity Field Hockey - Practice 8:30 to 11:30 @ Afton

Varsity Girls Soccer - Practice 8:00 to 10:30 @ Afton

Varsity and JV Volleyball - 8:00 to 11:00 @ Harpursville

Varsity Cheer - 8:00 to 10:00 @ Harpursville

Varsity Cross Country (Modified is welcome) - General Clinton Park 5:30 to 7:30

Hello, Afton Community! Fall sports practices begin on August 18th! The practice times are listed below: Varsity Cheerleading- 8:00 to 10:00 am, @ Harpursville, meet at the elementary. No practice on the 19th Varsity Field Hockey- Practice Times: 8:30 am-11:30 am @ Afton Varsity Football- 4-7 pm Monday – Friday, 9am -12 pm Saturday @ Harpursville Varsity Girls Soccer- 8:00-10:30 am @ Afton JV Boys Soccer- 8-10 am, Monday-Friday until school starts @ Afton Varsity Volleyball- 8-10am @ Harpursville JV Volleyball- 8-10am @ Harpursville Varsity Cross Country - General Clinton Park in Bainbridge, 5:30 to 7:30pm until school begins. All Modified sports begin on 8/25. Modified FH- Held @ Harpursville, 3-5 pm. Modified Football- Modified begins August 25th and will practice M-F 3:30-5 and Saturdays 8-10 for the whole season unless a game is scheduled for that day. @ Harpursville Modified Soccer – TBD Modified Cross Country will follow the Varsity schedule. Volleyball tryouts begin on Monday, August 18th at 8-11 a.m. Practices are in the Harpursville gym through the triple doors (sports entrance). Their practices on schedule galaxy for August.

August 4, 2025 Dear Afton CSD Community and Staff, I am honored and proud to introduce myself as the new Superintendent of Afton Central School District. As I enter my 34th year in education, I remain as passionate and committed as ever to supporting students, staff, and families. It is a privilege to bring that experience to Afton and to serve a district with such a strong sense of pride, community, and tradition. As we enjoy these final weeks of summer, I hope you are finding time to relax, recharge, and enjoy special moments with loved ones. I'm truly committed to the journey ahead and the opportunity to build on the great work already happening here. I'm excited about what we will accomplish together in the coming school year. Please know that I value open communication, collaboration, and transparency. I have an open-door policy and welcome conversations, questions, and ideas from all members of our school community. Ag Day was successfully held at Keith Clark Park in Sidney, NY, presented by the Cullman Center. Afton FFA played an active role by setting up a table that featured a photo booth, engaging games, and exciting prizes which promoted agricultural awareness. Sidney and Delaware Academy FFA also attended which enhanced the community spirit and fostered connections among local agricultural organizations. Ag Day was a wonderful opportunity to showcase the importance of agriculture. Thank you to all members who contributed their time and effort to make Ag Day a success!
