We established the tone early with defensive intensity and unselfish offense. Our pressure forced difficult possessions, and we were able to convert stops into transition opportunities. The energy and focus from the opening tip allowed us to build momentum and control the pace of the game. Offensively, we were led by the performances of Kayden Kehoe and Nolan Shofkom, who set the standard with their aggressiveness and ability to finish plays. Their production helped us create separation and keep pressure on the defense throughout the night. Braylon Akichison and Isaiah Hopkins also made key contributions, impacting the game with their effort, execution, and overall presence on both ends of the floor. Their work complemented our offensive rhythm and helped maintain consistency for all four quarters. Great job, Team!
BGAH Indoor Track competed at their State Qualifier Meet in Ithaca on Friday 2/20 against athletes from all 41 Section IV Indoor Track teams. A program record 7 athletes will be advancing to the NYSPSHAA Indoor Track State Meet. To do so, athletes must have finished in the top 2 places in their respective events overall, as there are no divisions or classes based on school size for advancing to the State Meet for Indoor Track except in the relay events, which are divided into 2 divisions by school size of 599 or more/less.
Appalonia Bushaw (Long Jump), Isaiah Hampton (Long Jump, High Jump), and Harpo Hardt (55m Hurdles) are advancing individually, while the Girls 4x400m Relay of Isabel Suda, Laila Williams, Madisyn Larsen, and Maddi Ingham won Division 2, advancing them to States as well. Madisyn Larsen also placed 3rd in the 600m, which puts her on Section IV's Intersectional Relay, a medley style event combing the State Qualifiers 3rd place finisher from the 1500m, 1000m, 600m, and 300m from each Section as a Section vs Section type event.
The State meet is March 6th and 7th at the Ocean Breeze State Park facility in Staten Island."

Afton Central School District is honored to be selected as a recipient of Chobani [and La Colombe Coffee Workshop’s] Community Impact Fund — an annual grant initiative supporting nonprofit organizations working to fight food insecurity and expand access to nutritious food. Afton FFA Food Pantry has been awarded this grant to provide a new greenhouse and expand the already existing school garden. This opportunity will provide hands-on agricultural education while supplying fresh produce for the FFA Food Pantry.
Thanks to this support, we’re able to continue advancing our work right here in our community, helping ensure families and neighbors have reliable access to the support and nourishing food they need. We are grateful to partner with Chobani [and La Colombe] to strengthen our local food systems and make good food accessible to all.
