The next FFA Food Pantry is scheduled on Monday, November 24th, 2025, from 3:00 - 4:00 p.m. We are so thankful to our incredible students, staff, and community partners for their services and contributions to our FFA food pantry. The fifth grade made the journey to Scranton, Pennsylvania to travel nearly 300 feet underground in a coal mine! In class we have been learning about human rights and the Industrial Revolution, and we made ties to the two events in the mine. We learned about the deplorable and unsafe conditions of coal mining, as well as how coal played a role in the development of the United States. The kids loved traveling underground to visit an important piece of American history!
Afton STEP students went on a field trip to Techworks to learn about the Space Simulator which was designed in Binghamton New York. Students had the opportunity to check out a historic computer to learn about the development of computers. Students also learned about the history of flight simulation and had the chance to operate a historic flight simulator. Way to go, Students!

Afton CSD Staff had a fantastic chili cookoff. Congratulations to Mr. Dan Sager for earning the highly esteemed Chili Cookoff Championship. Congratulations Mr. Brandon McNaught for earning second place and Ms. Kim Knapp-Moravcik for earning third place in our highly competitive chili contest.

BGAH Cross Country competed in Sectionals this past Thursday.
The Varsity Boys team of Owen Degan, Ethan Beardslee, Sean Fowler, Rowan Beasinger, Jackari Garipoli, Aiden Quick, My'Kel George, Mason Lans and Connor Rowe placed 2nd overall, led by Owen Degan's 3rd place finish, which qualifies him for States this coming Saturday in Queensbury.
The Varsity Girls team of Maddie Ingham, Madison Farberman, Lelaenia Baldwin, Jalyn Winans, Macey LaFever, Gabby Gross, Marissa Mayo and Issy Suda took 2nd overall, led by Maddie Ingham's 4th placed followed by Maddy Farberman's 5th place. Both girls also qualified for States as well.
